Gardening in Nevada

We have lived in Southern Nevada for 2 years now.  We have planted much and harvested little.  The extreme heat, and winds make gardening a challenge here, not to mention limited space.  We have been so excited to see growth in our garden this year.  The one green bean we harvested, the 4 seedy strawberries, the 2 tasty tomatoes, several yellow squash that grew to about 3 inches and then withered, and many herbs that have done well.  I am hoping to help my garden by logging my observation, learnings and ideas for the future.  I hope that someday, harvesting 1 green bean from the 6 plant we planted will not be exciting, but disappointing!  I hope someday, we will be excited about our harvest, not just about observing changes in the garden.  Although, for now, we reap huge pleasure from just tending, watching, and being with, our garden.
